AI Chatbot Prompts

 Experience With AI Prompting

I would say that I have a limited experience in AI prompting. I use AI Chat relatively often, for school or for work. For work I mostly use the chat bot for rewording emails that don't seem quite right. Chat GPT does a great job organizing my thoughts for me so others understand what I am trying to ask. For school, I use chat to help me learn things that are relevant to my coursework and I can use in all of my classes.

My Prompt

A great example of how I use Chat GPT is it helping me understand APA formatting better, it has been a long time since I have been in school before this program. Properly citing my sources has been a challenge for me and chat has helped me do that properly. Getting Chat GPT to cite sources helps me properly cite and give credit to authors, and helps me understand the formatting better. When allowed in a class' AI policy, this can be a great learning tool in proper citation.

The Process

After diving into the APA textbook to learn how to cite sources, I found myself more confused than before. I needed a way to properly cite sources without getting frustrated with all the citation rules.

Step 1 was to learn how to cite sources for my reference page.
Step 2 was to learn in text citations. I know there are different forms of in text citations and it was important to learn them all and when each one was appropriate.
Step 3 using the AI Prompt youtube video was extremely helpful in generating my prompt.
