Navigating PLN Resources

 When putting PLN in the perspective of my own personal development I wonder why haven't I established a PLN before. Currently I follow many in my field on the platform "LinkedIn" where I find helpful articles and images that are beneficial in my line of work. I am currently investigating a way to use a PLN for all the Health, Safety and Environment professionals in my company. I think this would be a great way for ideas and opportunities to be shared and be a great resource for professional development.

Writing strong blogs

 In my research finding points in creating strong blogs, a couple things stood out. Using strong headers for long posts, use data to support your topic (and opinion on the topic), be specific on objectives and expectations of the blog, and break up words with pictures that support your stance on a topic. Headlines Matter Most of the research I did came to the same points when writing a strong blog, headlines matter. A good length of your time needs to go into coming up with a strong headline and first 100 words to grasp the readers attention. If the first section of your blog is boring, they may lose interest and move on. Wait until your blog is finished and re-read it to help your mind land on a strong headline.  Hi, my name is Kyle and this is my first attempt at a blog post... ever. Honestly, I am starting this blog as a requirement for class, but I am excited to experience blogging and learning new technologies that will develop my career. In my field, as in many others, technology is ever evolving and data can be your best friend, if you know how to use it. As a Health and Safety professional, hazard and risk trends can set you apart from others. Being proactive and correcting hazard trends before they become incidents will set you apart from those that are only reactive to injuries that occur.
