 Hi, my name is Kyle and this is my first attempt at a blog post... ever. Honestly, I am starting this blog as a requirement for class, but I am excited to experience blogging and learning new technologies that will develop my career. In my field, as in many others, technology is ever evolving and data can be your best friend, if you know how to use it.

As a Health and Safety professional, hazard and risk trends can set you apart from others. Being proactive and correcting hazard trends before they become incidents will set you apart from those that are only reactive to injuries that occur.

More Thoughts on PLN's

 As I think more about PLN's and their value to a profession, I can't help but realize the value that I can pass on to others looking into my profession. From new graduates to those looking for a new start in a new profession, a PLN would be a great starting point. If I were to have known about PLN's as someone who was changing careers, the transition and learning phase would have been a lot shorter. Surrounding yourself with individuals who hold knowledge that you want to add is invaluable. Gaining knowledge from forms of learning besides formal, structured learning environments such as tacit learning from those in a PLN is a great resource in ones professional development.

Navigating PLN Resources

 When putting PLN in the perspective of my own personal development I wonder why haven't I established a PLN before. Currently I follow many in my field on the platform "LinkedIn" where I find helpful articles and images that are beneficial in my line of work. I am currently investigating a way to use a PLN for all the Health, Safety and Environment professionals in my company. I think this would be a great way for ideas and opportunities to be shared and be a great resource for professional development.

Blog Post Refelction

Blog Post Reflections  After performing the reflection prompt for this weeks assignment, I have identified some structural points that help with the overall experience of the blog post reader. After creating points that help the blog post performance earlier in the semester, I have found myself going away from the structure for different reasons. Whether headings were not used or not being able to find pictures on the internet that meet the copywrite/fair use requirements, I would like to work harder on emphasizing the use of this structure to enhance my blog posts.
